Phillip Friesen

My photography education/exposure started in junior high school and continued through my completion of college.  Upon graduation from high school I enrolled in college majoring in industrial arts with a minor in art.  My major area of concentration within my art minor was photography.  The camera has been an important part of my life ever since.

Having traipsed along with my husband Phill, and my brother Skip the past few years, as they have pursued and grown as professional photographers, I was being continually exposed to proper composition and photographic technique.  They have been patient teachers, and I discovered my own love for nature and landscape photography as I developed under their encouragement; it has been a delight to embark on this  creative journey.

Phillip and I  live in northern California.  We have three children and 10 grandchildren.

It is without a doubt that if it were not for my brother-in-law Phill's encouragement  and  guidance I would not be here today. If I have anything here of value it's because I listened to him.

I retired in 2005 and that's when I really got fired up for Photography. I started by going to the beach to shoot surfers and that turned into a small internet business www.sandhphotography.com
After a couple years of shooting surfers Phill encouraged me to branch out and join him and Kitty in nature photography. Since then the three of us have been going on nature shoots whenever
possible.
